Training - Project Safe Childhood Team TrainingThe Project Safe Childhood Team Training program is designed to increase the level of investigative collaboration and cooperation among federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and federal prosecutors. Teams of between eight and twelve investigators and prosecutors from each District receive 4 ½ days of intensive training geared toward increasing their knowledge of federal systems so that cases involving child pornography and the online enticement of minors may be more effectively prosecuted at the federal level. Students also receive information regarding investigative strategies that will lead to successful prosecution of cases involving online enticement, commercial website child pornography, cases referred through the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s Cybertipline and the illegal sharing of child pornography through peer to peer networks. Length of program is 4½ days. Course Costs Student tuition, course materials, transportation and lodging are paid for this this training program. Participants are responsible for meals, parking, taxi fare and incidental expenses. The participant is also responsible for paying for additional lodging nights outside that allotted for the training program.
STATE & LOCAL
PARTICIPANT FUNDING AND TRAVEL INFORMATION
You will be receive instructions in your confirmation e-mail as to how and when you can book your flight. We will not be responsible for travel costs or reimbursement for travel expenses not booked through our travel agency. In an effort to assist us in controlling the travel costs associated with this course, you must make your flight reservations within 5 business days of receiving your confirmation e-mail. If you cancel your attendance without prior approval and have already booked your flight, your agency will be charged for a non-transferable airline ticket, as well as any hotel costs incurred.
If you choose to drive rather than fly,
regulations allow us to reimburse you only up to the cost of a common air
carrier. You may claim reimbursement for mileage at a rate of 50.5 cents per
mile. Please notify our office at (877) 798-7682 if you plan to drive so the
appropriate reimbursement paperwork can be provided to you at the training.
Airfare is authorized for individuals whose primary work address is greater
than 200 miles from the training address.
Lodging: Lodging is available to students and will be paid for by our Program for confirmed attendees whose primary work address is greater than 50 miles from the training address. If you selected the lodging option during registration and you meet the lodging criteria, lodging reservations will be made for you at a nearby hotel at the Federal government lodging rate based on the information you provide during the registration process.
PLEASE NOTE: Neither lodging nor mileage will be paid to participants with a daily one-way commute of less than 50 miles to and from the training address and their primary work address.
FEDERAL PARTICIPANT FUNDING AND TRAVEL INFORMATION Current Fox Valley Technical College ICAC Training and Technical Assistance Program guidelines prohibit us from expending grant funds to directly pay for expenses for Federal participants. However, EOUSA will reimburse travel and lodging expenses for all federal attendees with valid receipts. These expenses include transportation, be it airline or ground transportation, and lodging at per diem (see guidelines as explained in the State & Local section above). Federal employees will receive instructions on when to make travel arrangements and how to claim reimbursement during the registration process. Registration Process This class is a team-based training program limited to members from the United States Attorney’s Office (either the PSC Coordinator or the United Sates Attorney); representatives from the team’s related federal agency partners (FBI, ICE or Postal Inspection Service); the regional Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Commander or designated ICAC Task Force members; and others who are primarily state and local investigators involved in investigating these types of cases, including a representative from an Indian country law enforcement agency.
You must be nominated by the primary Working Group member of the Regional ICAC Task Force in whose jurisdiction your agency is located or by your PSC Coordinator and you must obtain Agency approval prior to applying for training or technical assistance through this program. The participant is responsible for any fees incurred by this program if the proper approval is not obtained.
Each US Attorney District will be allocated 8 seats in each class. Additional seats may be allocated based on funding and space availability.
Registrants will receive an e-mail acknowledging that they have successfully registered. If you do not receive an acknowledgement e-mail immediately following registration, please call us at (877) 798-7682. Formal confirmation of your attendance will be sent to you within 2 weeks following the registration deadline. Do not make any travel arrangements until you receive formal confirmation of your attendance unless instructed otherwise during the registration process. We will not be responsible for any costs incurred by you prior to receipt of your confirmation letter. Please do not call the hotel to make reservations. Lodging reservations will be made for you based on the information you provide at the time of registration. Cancellation and Substitute Attendee Policy Participant cancellation must be made using our On-line Registration system (Drop Class feature) no later than 5:00 pm eastern time on the Monday before the program start date. Substitute attendees are not allowed. Attendance Requirements Participants are required to attend the full 4-1/2 days of training. The agency of a no-show participant or a participant who fails to attend the full program without approval of absence will be billed $1,100 for the cost of the vacant seat.
