Training - Project Safe Childhood Team Training

The Project Safe Childhood Team Training program is designed to increase the level of investigative collaboration and cooperation among federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and federal prosecutors. Teams of between eight and twelve investigators and prosecutors from each District receive 4 ½ days of intensive training geared toward increasing their knowledge of federal systems so that cases involving child pornography and the online enticement of minors may be more effectively prosecuted at the federal level. Students also receive information regarding investigative strategies that will lead to successful prosecution of cases involving online enticement, commercial website child pornography, cases referred through the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s Cybertipline and the illegal sharing of child pornography through peer to peer networks.

Length of program is 4½ days.

Course Costs

Student tuition, course materials, transportation and lodging are paid for this this training program. Participants are responsible for meals, parking, taxi fare and incidental expenses. The participant is also responsible for paying for additional lodging nights outside that allotted for the training program.

STATE & LOCAL PARTICIPANT FUNDING AND TRAVEL INFORMATION
Airfare:
Airfare and lodging expenses for participants with a greater than 200 mile one-way commute to and from the training site and their primary work address will be covered for this course.  If you are eligible and you selected to fly to the training at the time of registration, Fox Valley Technical College ICAC Training and Technical Assistance Program will directly pay for the cost of your flight and lodging; however, you must book your flight using our designated travel agency.

You will be receive instructions in your confirmation e-mail as to how and when you can book your flight.  We will not be responsible for travel costs or reimbursement for travel expenses not booked through our travel agency. In an effort to assist us in controlling the travel costs associated with this course, you must make your flight reservations within 5 business days of receiving your confirmation e-mail.  If you cancel your attendance without prior approval and have already booked your flight, your agency will be charged for a non-transferable airline ticket, as well as any hotel costs incurred.

If you choose to drive rather than fly, regulations allow us to reimburse you only up to the cost of a common air carrier. You may claim reimbursement for mileage at a rate of 50.5 cents per mile. Please notify our office at (877) 798-7682 if you plan to drive so the appropriate reimbursement paperwork can be provided to you at the training.  Airfare is authorized for individuals whose primary work address is greater than 200 miles from the training address.

Ground Transportation: Our Program will reimburse participants for the cost of mileage at a rate of 50.5 cents per mile or for the cost of public ground transportation for individuals whose primary work address is greater than a 50 mile one-way commute from the training address but less than a 200 mile one-way commute (see explanation above under Airfare section).

Lodging: Lodging is available to students and will be paid for by our Program for confirmed attendees whose primary work address is greater than 50 miles from the training address. If you selected the lodging option during registration and you meet the lodging criteria, lodging reservations will be made for you at a nearby hotel at the Federal government lodging rate based on the information you provide during the registration process.

PLEASE NOTE: Neither lodging nor mileage will be paid to participants with a daily one-way commute of less than 50 miles to and from the training address and their primary work address.

FEDERAL PARTICIPANT FUNDING AND TRAVEL INFORMATION

Current Fox Valley Technical College ICAC Training and Technical Assistance Program guidelines prohibit us from expending grant funds to directly pay for expenses for Federal participants. However, EOUSA will reimburse travel and lodging expenses for all federal attendees with valid receipts. These expenses include transportation, be it airline or ground transportation, and lodging at per diem (see guidelines as explained in the State & Local section above). Federal employees will receive instructions on when to make travel arrangements and how to claim reimbursement during the registration process.
